Shenandoah: Camping + Engaged

This past weekend, Scott and I went on our annual camping trip to Shenandoah National Park to celebrate our 7 year anniversary and enjoyed a wonderful two days together up in the mountains. If you follow me on Instagram, then you also know that we are now engaged! He caught me by surprise, and got down on one knee to propose while we were taking pictures for our upcoming Christmas card (or so I thought at the time)! I am still in absolute awe over how much thought he put into this moment. Below is a round-up of some of my favorite snapshots from our mini-weekend getaway:

Oh by the way, that was definitely a peanut butter cup smore that you saw up there…and it was flippin’ amazing! I highly recommend subbing these bad boys in from time to time.

I am so ready to go on my next adventure/mini-getaway trip; if all works out with our schedules, Kate and I are hoping to make this happen for the both of us soon!

Kate visits Alaska

As I mentioned in our instameet post, I was in Alaska not that long ago. Beyond the amazing time I had hiking and meeting new people, the main reason I went was to visit my brother, his wife, and their three beautiful girls who had recently moved there. Here is a round-up of the amazing time I had with them. (p.s. there was feeding a baby Musk Ox involved! eek!)

Double the Instafun!

Our lives were paralleled last week as Jamie was invited to explore the U.S. Capitol with several other D.C. grammers, and I ventured out to meet some locals in Anchorage, Alaska. We both went on instameets that took place only one day a part from each other but on opposite ends of the country! Even with the distance, we still kept each other posted throughout the day by sending snapshots and text messages of what we were up to! We decided to share of few of those snapshots below:

New Series! #30photosaseason

We are so excited to be starting a new project together, but what makes this even better is the opportunity to get other photographers, adventurers, home chefs, and creative minds in on it as well! We will be posting a list of 30 fun things about every season; some of the photos we will share in detail on the OSS blog, and all others will be posted to the OSS and/or our personal Instagram accounts with the hashtag #30photosaseason. There is no order or set of rules to this project, except to just enjoy each season to the fullest and document it through Instagram by using our hashtag! We encourage you all to join in on the fun too!

Hopefully this list inspires you to get outside this autumn, try something new, eat seasonal foods, or spend time with the people you care about. We are looking forward to seeing what you come up with as well as participating ourselves! See you back soon either here or on IG as autumn progresses!
