Double the Instafun!

Our lives were paralleled last week as Jamie was invited to explore the U.S. Capitol with several other D.C. grammers, and I ventured out to meet some locals in Anchorage, Alaska. We both went on instameets that took place only one day a part from each other but on opposite ends of the country! Even with the distance, we still kept each other posted throughout the day by sending snapshots and text messages of what we were up to! We decided to share of few of those snapshots below:

Be sure to check out more photos posted from both of these instameets by searching for the hashtags #capitolmorning and #walkalaska. If you ever get the chance to attend one near you, you’re in for treat! Not only will you have the opportunity to fill up your camera roll, but you’ll also meet some pretty amazing people. This really is a perfect example of why Instagram is such a wonderful community!

P.S. If you are interested in going to an Instagram meet up soon, there is one coming up on October 5th! Where? All over the WORLD! Be sure to check out the hashtag #WWIM10 to find one near you!

Adventures in Columbus

Last weekend was an absolute blast; my boyfriend Scott and I traveled to the wonderful city of Columbus to visit our dear friends, Kate and her hubby Anthony during the holiday weekend for a much-needed reunion. And although it did not last as long as we’d hoped for (when does it ever?), we enjoyed every second of it.

Mind you, my boyfriend is from Michigan and he has only thought of Ohio as a next-door-neighbor state with not much more to do, especially since it’s missing our favorite Great Lake (Michigan). But I can assure you that his thoughts have changed for the better after this visit, thanks to Kate and Anthony! They took us everywhere. By bike, car, and foot…and yet I feel like there is still so much more to see!

Let me save you from some more of my blabbing and just start sharing with you some Instagram snapshots from our mini four-day adventure!

See you again soon, Columbus!

Washington D.C.’s Cherry Blossoms

I finally got the chance to see Washington D.C.’s cherry blossom trees this year while they were in full bloom just a few weeks ago. It has always been on my “to do” list for places to see in the northern Virginia area, but in the four years that I’ve lived here now, not once was I able to make it out in time to see these beauties during their peak bloom.

I brought along with me my coworker, Alice, who had never seen the DC blossoms either. We took the metro downtown and basically spent most of the morning walking around the Tidal Basin where Jefferson’s Memorial is located. Let me tell you…this place was hopping and there were loads of people everywhere! I could only imagine what the following weekend was going to be like with the festival happening.

It truly is a wonderful experience and I definitely recommend it for anyone planning on visiting the nation’s capital during the spring season!
